[At some point during the afternoon, Connor will run across Shang Qinghua in the east wing. Specifically, smackdab in the middle of the carnival. He's quick to greet him as soon as he's able to get his attention.]

Good afternoon. [Hi. Hello.] How are you today?

[nosediving]

Connor.

[Yes, hello! Good thing he didn't get scared. Some of these booths offer darts.]

The morning's news was serendipitous. Fittingly, there seems to be a festival taking place here.

[tootsiepop]

Indeed. Piety did not lead us astray, after all. It's... a great relief.

[Though Fortune isn't faring too well now... At least nobody else died? You win some, you lose some.]

Have you been enjoying the carnival? It's very [uh] colorful.

[nosediving]

[And then Fortune gets smote next week.]

I just discovered this section of the wing and have been taking in the sights. What about you?

[tootsiepop]

The same, in a way. This is the first time I've participated in a festivity of this kind. It's... interesting.

[nosediving]

You say it's your first, but you seem more aware than this one of what's going on. Do any of these activities strike you as familiar?

[tootsiepop]

Not from personal experience. But I've been programmed with all the necessary knowledge to facilitate my integration with modern society.

[nosediving]

Ah, I'll never tire of hearing about the craftsmanship of your world. Since you've been programmed with the knowledge, though, there must surely be a booth or two that piques your interest. Why don't you give it a try?

[tootsiepop]

[... hm.]

I don't see why not. Would you like to accompany me?

[nosediving]

[With an eager nod, he takes a step toward Connor.]

Does a booth here catch your eye?

[tootsiepop]

[HM. He thinks about this for a moment, taking it very seriously. After a moment, he nods.]

I spotted a Shooting Gallery during my explorations. What do you think?

[nosediving]

[He looks up in thought.]

I think I passed it earlier, too. There was a row of strange-looking sticks. If this Shooting Gallery interests you, let's try it.

[tootsiepop]

Yes, that's the one. Shall we?

[At his lead or Connor's lead! Whichever works, really.]

[nosediving]

[This is Connor's moment to shine. Hence, Shang Qinghua will follow his lead. Take him away!

Once they reach the booth in question, Shang Qinghua perks up. The sticks! (They're toy guns.)]

It's this one, right?

[tootsiepop]

Correct. Do you know how to play it?

[nosediving]

Why don't you show me how it is done?

[tootsiepop]

It would be my please.

[ALRIGHT... i, kyuu, have never been to a carnival-- so assume connor does the whole song and dance of picking up the gun and pew pewing with incredible precision. hello.]

[nosediving]

[Amazing!]

Since you didn't miss a single target, there must be a reward.

[He looks up at the booth. Does Connor win a giant teddy bear?]

[tootsiepop]

[Connor does, indeed, win a giant... something. He holds it up for two seconds, before turning to SQH.]

Would you like to keep this?

[nosediving]

[Shang Qinghua stares at the giant monstrosity for ten seconds.]

I shouldn't be greedy. This is a prize you won on your own merit, so you should keep it.

[tootsiepop]

I have no need for it, however. Are you sure you don't want to keep it?

[Someone give the blob fish a home.]

[nosediving]

Surely there must be another participant you'd like to gift this to . . .

[tootsiepop]

Why would I do that, if you're right here?

[nosediving]

. . . To be honest with you, I have no idea what I would do with this if you were to give it to me. Giving it to me would be wasteful!

[tootsiepop]

[... Hm.]

If you're sure. But I'm uncertain of what I could do with this, too.
